Around the Room
Backsplash: Hand-poured cement tiles from Architectural Ceramics was Jennie’s preference for craftsmanship and shade. Matt, hesitant at about having huge yellow and blue diamonds covering over the entire wall, now loves how the tiles make the kitchen feel energetic and colorful
Cabinets: The kitchen is open to the family room, so the couple desired the built-cabinets to appear less like cabinets so they built a custom deep blue-grey shade, they resemble massive portions of fixtures
Dining Room
Pendant + Art: The style of the iron-and-fabric pendant from Troy Lighting make it look like a piece of farmhouse, but its large scale (31½ inches tall) gives it a modern look. The abstract watercolor print, measuring 30 inches by 30 inches, holds on its own against the pendant’s proportions.
Dining Nook: A antique banquette got styled with striped Mahakam fabric, which reflects all of kitchen’s colors. Since this is the Rosecans’ only dining spot, they enlarged the seating: Eight adults can fit easily on the L-shaped dining table. Industry West chairs provide a splash of yellow next to the Made Goods limed color oak table.
